It is only about the fragility of life and that tomorrow cannot be there. On the other hand, you did after all what you wanted to do for a long time: go to Sicily. In this sense, one can say: 'better late than never'. The tree was not there anymore but you collected the beautiful story of Ghost, so your wait was not in vain.
