What is Project Home?
I still remember one of the first English lessons at school, I was still a kid but the concept hit my mind with the power of a high-speed train when our teacher explained to us the difference between house and home. From that time on, I’ve always been curious to know how people all over the world live the concept of home. How being born in a different culture shapes the idea we have of our home. Is that the concept of having a big house? To stay close to families? Is it an abstract feeling? I’m curious by nature and I wanted to have conversations with people who live in a completely different way from mine, to understand what drives them.
I still do not have an answer from myself, on what is home for me. I have been living and traveling to +20 countries in the past ten years, and, as far as cool can seem, it has destroyed my mental health and brought to life so many doubts I had to deal with. One of them was regarding what’s home for me. One day I asked myself: why don’t you start asking people what is home for them, so maybe, by learning from others you can recreate confidence and start building your own home? It seemed smart, so I started traveling. And asking. And documenting my journey with a film camera.
What to expect?
This newsletter is just the beginning of what Project Home may become in the future. I have so many ideas that most of the time, I don’t even start due to a mixed feeling of fears and overwhelming thoughts. I plan to send you updates once every two weeks, no spam, no sponsor. Just true stories from communities around the world.
