Finding Home In A Person
There are days when life decides it’s time for real and intense emotions, time to experience those types of feelings that as soon as you’re in the moment living them you know already you will remember them for the rest of your days.
The heart starts to pump happiness, the voice breaks every few words with tears, and the eyes become so simple that you can deeply look into people’s souls. All of the daily sufferings and pain we go through find a life partner in these moments.
Last Saturday was one of these days.
My brother married the love of his life. Two of the most important people in my existence decided to share their meaning of love with the rest of the world.
While reflecting on their story, I realized a full episode of Project Home was necessary. If this is a documentation on what the concept of home means for people, a few days ago, to all the closest friends and families attending the wedding, was clear that home can be found in something more personal and profound.
Witnessing this magnitude of love made me realize that everything becomes secondary when you have with you the person you want to spend your life with. Home is where your soul feels understood, where your dreams are nurtured, where your fears are met with empathy. It’s the person who knows your flaws and loves you still.
As I watched my brother and his wife exchanging vows and affirming their love, I understood that they had found their home in each other.
Their wedding was a beautiful reminder that home can be wherever you are, as long as you are with the person who makes your heart feel complete. It’s a lesson I will carry with me as I continue my journey, exploring what home means across different cultures and communities.
This journey with Project Home has shown me that home transcends geography, no matter where we come from, the essence of home is universal. It lies in the deep connections we make with our environment. As I move forward, I carry this understanding with me, knowing that home is not a destination but a deeper feeling.
Until the next one,
Much love.
